Thoughts of receiving the award……
Receiving the Gibden International Exhibition Awards was a great honor for me. I am genuinely grateful for this recognition and thrilled to have studied and performed at such prestigious institutions – Wells Cathedral School and the Royal College of Music. This award has motivated me to continue growing as a musician and represents a significant milestone in my musical journey. It not only acknowledges my dedication and perseverance but also offers an incredible opportunity to perform in one of the world’s premier concert halls. With heartfelt appreciation and enthusiasm, I view this as a fresh start, where I will push myself further and pursue even greater musical accomplishments.

Day 01: August 17 (Sunday)

Today I arrived at the beautiful campus for the String Summer Camp in the UK! The place is surrounded by green hills and fresh air. I met other string players from all over the world. After check-in, we had a welcome concert by the instructors – they were incredible!
I felt both nervous and excited, but the music instantly made me feel at home. It was the perfect start to the week.
Day 02: August 18 (Monday)
We had our first ensemble rehearsal this morning. I’m playing viola in a chamber group. It’s my first time playing with such a talented group. In the afternoon, we had technique classes – scales, bowing, and posture. My arms are tired, but it was worth it!
Even though it was exhausting, I loved the feeling of pushing myself. The sound of our group slowly coming together was very rewarding.

Day 03: August 19 (Tuesday)

Today was full of practice and chamber group. I had a one-on-one lesson with Michael. He helped me improve my vibrato and tone. In the evening, we listened to a concert – so powerful and emotional.
Michael’s advice gave me a new perspective on playing – small changes can make such a big difference. The evening concert left me inspired to practice even more.
Day 04: August 20 (Wednesday)
I feel more confident in the orchestra now. We’re working on a piece – it’s tricky but fun. We also had a sight-reading challenge, which was stressful but exciting! Everyone is improving so fast.
At first I was worried I would make mistakes, but I learned that sight-reading is also about courage. It felt great to take risks and play together.

Day 05: August 21 (Thursday)
String Competition day! I played a solo piece by Bach. Some part I can’t play well because i was nervous . In the evening, we had a show – super fun!
Standing in front of everyone was terrifying at first, but when I started playing, I felt calm and focused. The talent show afterwards was full of laughter and creativity.

Day 06: August 22 (Friday)

Halfway through! We went on a short hike in the countryside – beautiful views and much-needed fresh air. In the afternoon, we had a string orchestra rehearsal. Playing with a full string section gave me goosebumps!
The countryside reminded me how music and nature both have their own rhythm. I felt recharged and more connected with my playing.

Day 07: August 23 (Saturday)
Final rehearsals today. Everyone is getting ready for the big concert tomorrow. We also did a group photo and exchanged contact info. I’m sad it’s ending, but I’ll never forget the laughter and music we shared.
Looking at our group photo, I realized how close we have become in just one week. Music really brings people together.

Day 08: August 24 (Sunday)

Concert day! Our orchestra went really well, and all the solo performances were the perfect ending to a magical week. Saying goodbye was hard, but I’m going home with new skills, new friends, and unforgettable memories.
The applause still echoes in my head. It wasn’t just a concert—it felt like a celebration of everything we’ve learned and experienced together.
