Robin Lee

Robin has been heavily involved in the music scene for the past 15 years, both in concerts and in events such as Euroasia Youth Music Festival, Johor Bahru Arts Festival, Chin Yong Music Festival and KL Piano Gala.

He has played as a soloist, but finds greater joy sharing the stage with colleagues. Along with violinist Mabel Wong and violist Andrew Filmer, he co-founded Anjung Trio. Due to their unusual mix, they are able to experiment with various combination and explore uncommon repertoire. The Trio has performed at Sunway University, Bentley Music Academy and Universiti Putra Malaysia. They have also added to peer- reviewed articles in the Australian and New Zealand Viola Society Publications.

Robin was privileged to have recorded and given the premieres of the works of composers Neo Hup Hiang, Wong Chee Yean, and Wong Chee Wei with vocalists Ang Mei Foong, Yeoh Ker Ker, and Samantha Chew in the first Chin Yong Music Festival. As a result of this collaboration, Wong Chee Wei was commissioned to write a piece for Anjung Trio and a collection of vocal pieces for Robin’s upcoming project with vocalists.

Robin dedicates much of his time teaching, and is known for his emphasis on basics as well as his ability to solve problems plaguing experienced pianists.
