Sha Kah Yan

Sha Kah Yan (age 14), began violin lessons at the age of 4. She has been actively participating in various music festival and competitions, both at local and international level. She passed her Grade 8 Violin practical exam with distinction at the age of 11 and is now completing her Music Performance Diploma examination. Kah Yan is the 2nd place winner for Young Artiste in the Euroasia String Competition 2023. She is also the 1st place winner for Young Artiste Junior for Euroasia String Competition 2021 and 2022. She has also won multiple awards at the GFS Singapore Festival, Singapore Raffles International Music Festival, Osaka International Music Competition, Vienna Virtuoso Festival, Cheer Taiwan etc. 

Kah Yan is one of the pioneer members of Euroasia Sinfonia and is the concertmaster. She is also a member of the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Furthermore, Kah Yan is also frequently invited to perform as a soloist. Her most recent performance was as a soloist for the Malaysian Chamber Showcase at Dewan Philharmonic Petronas where she performed the Bach violin concerto in May 2024.

Kah Yan attended various masterclasses, including with American violinist Dr Young Shih-Hung of Juilliard School, Professor Min Yen Chien of Taipei National University of the Arts, Professor Nanette Chen of National Taiwan Normal University, Professor Yin Ke from Singapore. MPO violinist Mr. Tan Ka Ming, and others.

Kah Yan aspires to be a violinist and travel around the world, sharing her music with everyone.
