A seasoned concert performer, YS Tang holds a Master’s degree in Music performance. Beside his teaching commitments, YS Tang maintains an active performance schedule, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, with a particular emphasis on early music.
While working closely with VerSeS Music Ensemble, Mr. Tang expands the role of the classical guitar in early music ensemble, arranging works by Byrd, Monteverdi, Purcell, Buxtehude, to name a few. In 2022, he also joined the Bachfest Malaysia Orchestra, arranging a guitar part for a motet and two of Bach’s cantata for the 2022 concert tour in five cities.
In addition to public performances, Mr. Tang conducts master classes and public seminars covering various aspects of the classical guitar.
